  1. Jon Frame will be facilitating a class covering the use of PowerPoint here at the church. The class will be held Saturday, May 17th at 10 am in the Conference Room across from the information booth. Anyone interested in working the Audio/Visual Ministry with the computers should attend this teaching session. Please let Jon know if you'll be there so that he can have enough equipment set-up. He can be reached by phone at 281-0268 or email jwfarchitect@comcast.net
  2. (From the Cummings family) ... Could you please put a note in the bulletin this week for us thanking the congregation for their prayers, cards and phone calls for the loss of my brother Allen Bitters from the family of Rosana and Rick Cummings and his mother Margaret Bitters.
  3. Al Rice sold 2 dinners at this year's auction.  If you bought one of those dinners would you contact him for arrangements?  He can be reached at: 229-1514!
  4. The Sue Group will host a congratulatory potluck for David Jessie and Denise Best Sunday May 25th in the FSH.  Make plans to wish them the best; they plan to wed in a private ceremony soon!
  5. Many of you have expressed the desire for the computer challenged to receive the news/notes updates.  Please help us assure those who do not have a computer or are unable to access the news/notes bulletin that we are currently working to come up with a suitable alternative.  More information to follow!Mildred Lawless, mother of John Lawless and Mary Tarkenton and grandmother of Jennifer McDermott and Katie Kirkley passed away at the age of 97 on Sunday.  Assured of her salvation, it will be with great joy that the family graciously gives her back to the Lord in a graveside service as the Mariposa Cemetery on Friday May 9, 2007 at 11:00 am.  The Mariposa Church of Christ will be serving lunch afterward.  Viewing will be on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Mariposa Mortuary.  John & Dana Lawless would like to thank everyone for all your prayers and wants you to know that they miss you!
  6. Did you know that College Church is only 1 of 2 churches in Fresno County that gives diapers through Love, Inc.?  In that past few months we have given out MANY bags of diapers, wipes and bottle brushes to needy families and MANY children have been blessed by this church.  When you tithe, donate and bring in items, community members who are having a hard time are ministered to thru this church.
  7. Amanda Valle is looking for someone who may have recorded the flag folding ceremony at the Car Show.  If you have a means of sharing that with her, please give her a call.  She is interested in using that for a lesson in her High School classes.  She may be reached at 451-1289.
  8. We are still looking for able bodied people to work the next election on June 3rd.  Give us a call if that is something you can do.
  9. Beginning next week, we do NOT have anyone scheduled to do Wednesday Night Dinner.  Don't let the flock starve.....sign up with anticipation of a blessing with the girls in the office!  If everyone takes a turn we can keep the fellowship alive!
  10. The Youth Group will be having a rummage sale on May 30th to raise money for their new room!  If you have gently used items you may bring them to the youth room on Sunday.  Please do not leave your rummage sale items anywhere else as they may be mistakenly discarded.
  11. Carlotta Wint will be selling Mother's Day corsages on Sunday.  Plan to buy your flowers here at the building before services and support the Fresno Chapter of Right to Life!!
  12. The next fundraiser for Mountain View will be at Me-N-Eds on May 18th from 11:30-3:30.  You will need a flyer in order to pass the benefit onto the school.  Those will be made available to you in the school office and in the foyer!
  13. The Car Show was a great success!  Last year there were 88 vehicles registered....this year Gene and his crew registered 174 entries!!  If you made chili and brought that in a crock pot or other dish, please have mercy on our limited counter space in the kitchen and retrieve your vessel ASAP!
  14. The Ukraine team has been working hard.  They are set to leave the states on May 30th.  Before then they would like to have a workday on May 18 to prepare several things they will be using while ministering to the orphans.  If you can cut a straight line, fold nicely or just provide good company for the workers, come to the FSH and bless the team!

    Adding to that:
The cinnamon roll sale was a great success!  $655.35 was raised, which will almost pay for two more mentors!  Thanks so much to all who participated, and who support this mission in every way.  We are so thankful, and the children in the Gonimova orphanage are going to be so blessed! Praise God!

  15. The church office is so excited about the numerous projects underway in the building!  Pretty soon all of the children and youth including k-6, jr. high, high school and college age will have new rooms to serve, learn and praise the Lord in!  Keep these ministries in mind when you schedule extra giving as you are blessing generations to come!
  16. In recent weeks the motion sensors have been tripped a few times during the night hours causing the alarm company to dispatch the police.  If you hang something on the walls we are asking you to put one staple on either end in order to prevent it from blowing off of the wall.  This saves an unnecessary trip for the police department and saves us much needed dollars in fees.  If you have questions about anything you wish to hang, do not hesitate to contact the office and we will advise you and/or supply you with what you need!
  17. Julio Ibarra had a successful surgery to repair his nose yesterday at St. Agnes.  If you would like to send him a get well card you may do so at the following address: 7100 Van Ness Blvd./Fresno, 93711.

Hope all are doing well this week!
