The Ukraine Mission Team is affiliated with World Wide Youth Camps (WWYC).  This organization is dedicated to planting the seed of Christ's love in the hearts of children.  In the last two years, WWYCs has narrowed it's focus to Russia and Ukraine, and is particularly concerned with the plight of orphans in these two countries.  Specifically, WWYC works with the governments and agencies in these countries to arrange for teams to conduct camps in Youth Camps, orphanages, and school settings. 

In 2006, members of College Church supported my partnership with the team from Southeast Church of Christ in Denver, Colorado.  We were sent to Kharkov, Ukraine where we worked at Camp Ramashka (Camp Daisy) with about 320 children, ages 6-16.

In 2007, WWYCs asked for, and the Lord called, a team from Fresno to go, once again to Kharkov.  We worked in a Youth Camp called Lesniya Zorree (Wood's Sunrise) with about 80 children.  In both of these missions, God has shown himself in amazing ways and has brought fruit that is developing as we speak.  

Our head mentor from last year, Elena, just wrote to ask us to give a big thank you to those who contributed to the fund for gifts to the orphans at Christmas time!  They have new, warm clothing, and they got to go with Elena to choose them!  They were so excited!

Team 2008

We are preparing to go again, and so far, our 2008 team consists of Roger Howell, Joyce Watson, Grace Pendleton, and myself (Kathy Wagner).  At least two others are in serious prayer about joining us.  We don't yet know when the trip will be, but most likely, sometime between June 15 and July 30 :)!  We'd love to have at least 1-2 more folks join us, and are particularly interested in having one or two teens/college age youth.  But the time is SHORT!  Our first financial deadline is March 1!  So anyone with an interest needs to contact us NOW!
